Poul Henningsen PH 80 Floor Lamp for Louis Poulsen.
 
The PH 80 was put into production after Henningsen's death, as a celebration of what would have been his 80th birthday. A designer focused on the future, Henningsen had been working with plastic materials as the new material for his fixtures. Executed in opal acrylics rather than glass, Henningsen aimed to produce a less-expensive product with the same lighting characteristics as a glass fixture.
 
The PH 80 Floor Lamp's acrylic shades provide comfortable lighting, while the red hue of the top reflector gives the light a warm glow. The PH 80 Floor Lamp is composed of a black base with a chrome-plated steel stem with white opal acrylic bottom shades and a black polycarbonate top shade. White and black versions feature a powder-coated steel stem.
