Pierre Chapo was one of France’s most celebrated modern woodworkers and furniture designers. His sculptural and organic forms combine French modernist refinement with a traditional emphasis on craftsmanship. Today his made-to-order solid wood furniture continues to be handcrafted in France at the Chapo Création workshop run by Zoran Chapo, who embraces his grandfather's commitment to simplicity, sustainability, sincerity and creation.
 
Pierre Chapo first created the 'S24' in 1967 for his friend, Dr Hiroshi Nakajima. The chair highlights the strength of the half-lap joints, proven by the chair's clean design lines yet rigid strength. Featuring small decorative elements such as the leather seat's support from a shrewd system of woven cords, the S24 chair is meticulously executed to the exacting standards of Chapo Création and finished in a simple and natural oil of linseed and turpentine.
 
Price per item. Available to order in unlimited quantities in choice of elm or oak, as well as with black leather or brown leather. Linen may also be considered for the seat's material. Please note that the wood's grain, color and features vary from item to item due to the organic nature of the material.
 
Every item is made to order with an approximate lead time of 3 months to 6 months, depending on the piece. Typically lead time is roughly 3 months for seating, 4 months for tables and 6 months for large cabinets. Lead times are subject to change without notice. **SHIPPING NOT INCLUDED** In order to facilitate the most accurate shipping quote on Chapo pieces, the buyer will be invoiced directly by Chapo Création for the actual shipping cost once ordered items have been fabricated. Buyer is responsible for all customs duties, fees and import taxes as well as the removal and disposal of packing materials.
