Ignazio Gardella 'Doppio Vetro' wall lamp for Tato Italia

Ignazio Gardella was one of the leading figures in Italian twentieth-century architecture. A graduate of the Politecnico di Milano, he founded Azucena with Luigi Caccia Dominioni and Corrado Corradi Dell’Acqua in 1947. A renowned architect, he continued producing iconic furniture and lighting designs until the 1990s.

'Doppio Vetro' was originally designed by Gardella in 1955 for Azucena. This authorized re-edition of Gardella's most recognizable industrial design is faithfully executed by Tato Italia in choice of  polished brass or chrome. Paired with a textured glass diffuser, the result is a prismatic glass that creates a soft diffusion of light.
