Pair of 1940s Model #1537 Sconces by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte. Executed in opaline glass and metal in Italy, circa late 1930s / early 1940s. A highly refined design by one of the greatest masters of lighting, this exceptional pair of sconces exudes understated elegance.

Some variation from lamp to lamp, but both are comparably good. Accommodates a single 60w equivalent bulb. Period style backplate added for mounting over a standard American j-box. Some scuffs, scratches and patination as largely shown in the images and noted only for accuracy.
