Originally designed in 1959, this sculptural table lamp is a newly produced numbered edition with an authentication certificate made in France by Disderot with many of the same small-scale manufacturing techniques and craftsmanship as the original run. Executed in high-quality lacquered metal and double-layer opaline glass.

Born in 1925 in the Hautes-Alpes, Joseph-André Motte studied in Paris at the School of Applied Arts.
In 1952 he joined the studio of the third French master, Marcel Gascoin. It was there that he met Pierre Guariche and Michel Mortier with whom he developed a friendship and a professional affinity. Together they created the Atelier de Recherche Plastique (ARP) to create French-made practical, comfortable, modern furniture at a reasonable price.
