For centuries, famed Hida artisans in Gifu prefecture have played a role in Japan's woodworking culture, crafting iconic bentwood furniture from sustainable local forests. Established in 1920, Hida Sangyo builds upon the Japanese heritage of craftsmanship and sustainability from their headquarters in Gifu, which remains one of Japan's leading furniture production areas. In addition to offering iconic designs from midcentury masters like Sori Yanagi and Enzo Mari, Hida produces contemporary creations from international designers such as Atsuhiko Misawa and atelier oï.
 
Part of Hida's Mari Collection, this dining chair is crafted in Japanese Cedar wood that has been heat treated through a proprietary method developed by Hida. The result is a strengthened piece of Cedar while maintaining the unique and dynamic characteristics of the natural element. The legs, as well as the supports for backrests, are executed in steel tubing. The final product displays the historic Japanese tradition and craft, interpreted in a modern sense.
 
Price per item. Available to order in unlimited quantities in choice of natural or dark stain, as well as with armrests as the 'Tevere.' Please note that the wood's grain, color and features vary from item to item due to the organic nature of the material.

SHIPPING NOT INCLUDED: In order to facilitate the most accurate shipping quote on Hida pieces, the buyer will be invoiced directly by Hida for the actual shipping cost once ordered items have been fabricated. Buyer is responsible for all customs duties, fees and import taxes as well as the removal and disposal of packing materials. Please note that items must ship from Hida’s workshop in Japan, so local pickup is not available. Shipment insured through carrier only. Two Enlighten is not liable for any claims.
