Matte White Glazed Ceramic Gainey Prototype Midcentury Chalice Planter.
Executed in matte off-white glazed ceramic. A very clean and increasingly rare example sourced directly from Steve Gainey, the grandson of the founder of Gainey Ceramics. Structurally sound with minimal signs of indoor-only use. Unmarked.
Gainey Ceramics has been in the business of manufacturing the finest quality hand-crafted containers for more than 40 years, spanning 3 generations. Gainey pioneered functional yet visually appealing plant containers, becoming the choice of professional architects, landscapers, interior and exterior designers throughout the midcentury era. A similar planter in mustard yellow is available in a separate listing.
Please note that this piece is from our personal collection, but has been used indoors only and has not been drilled nor directly potted. Some age appropriate patina, dings, scuffs and wear as largely shown and noted only for accuracy. Additional images available upon request.
