1970s Gainey Mustard Ceramic Planter
Executed in matte mustard yellow glazed ceramic. A very clean and increasingly rare example attributed to iconic ceramics manufacturer Gainey Ceramics, circa 1970s. Drilled, structurally sound and highly presentable. Unmarked.
Gainey Ceramics has been in the business of manufacturing the finest quality hand-crafted containers for more than 40 years, spanning 3 generations. Gainey pioneered functional yet visually appealing plant containers, becoming the choice of professional architects, landscapers, interior and exterior designers throughout the midcentury era.
A similar, slightly larger planter is also available in a separate listing.
Please note that this piece is from our personal collection and is currently being used by us as a planter; as a result, some additional age appropriate wear including water marks, mineral deposits and soiling are present. Note a small chip along the rim of the planter, but piece is structurally sound. Five drill holes present.
Some age appropriate patina, dings, scuffs and wear as largely shown and noted only for accuracy. Additional photos available upon request.
