'Yoruba Rose' Japanese Paper and Stainless Steel Floor Lamp for Ingo Maurer

Designed by Dagmar Mombach and produced by Ingo Maurer, one of the most celebrated German lighting icons since 1966. With imagination, creativity and technical prowess, Maurer’s lamps have been explicitly designed to “stimulate the imagination and excite the emotions.” Today his Munich workshop continues to craft incomparable creations true to the one-of-a-kind spirit of the firm’s founder.

‘Yoruba Rose’ is the artistic and graceful fusion of paper, metal, stainless steel, and silicone. Fabricated in Japanese paper, it has to undergo a meticulous manufacturing process in Dagmar Mombach’s studio, until the desired shape is achieved. The shade is attached to red-enameled stainless steel wires with the resulting object eliciting a harmonious and calming expression.
