For centuries, famed Hida artisans in Gifu prefecture have played a role in Japan's woodworking culture, crafting iconic bentwood furniture from sustainable local forests. Established in 1920, Hida Sangyo builds upon the Japanese heritage of craftsmanship and sustainability from their headquarters in Gifu, which remains one of Japan's leading furniture production areas. In addition to offering iconic designs from midcentury masters like Sori Yanagi and Enzo Mari, Hida produces contemporary creations from international designers such as Atsuhiko Misawa and atelier oï.

Part of Hida's Yanagi Collection, the 'Monjiro' stool is executed in solid white oak and chrome. It pairs with the 'Monjiro' table or equally well on its own. Born in 1915, Yanagi was a founder of modern postwar industrial design methods. His award-winning “Butterfly Stool” was the first Japanese-designed industrial design to receive global recognition.

Price per item. Available to order in unlimited quantities in a clear polyurethane, please inquire for additional stain options. Please note that the wood's grain, color and features vary from item to item due to the organic nature of the material.

SHIPPING NOT INCLUDED: In order to facilitate the most accurate shipping quote on Hida pieces, the buyer will be invoiced directly by Hida for the actual shipping cost once ordered items have been fabricated. Buyer is responsible for all customs duties, fees and import taxes as well as the removal and disposal of packing materials.
