Designed by Ludovica + Roberto Palomba and produced by Foscarini, the Italian lighting firm founded in Venice on the legendary island of Murano, where generations of master glass blowers have skillfully used their unmatched imagination and skill to create the most innovative works of light into the modern era.
 
The ‘Rituals’ is fabricated using many of the same artisanal glass blowing techniques perfected over centuries, with thoughtful attention to detail, use of high quality materials and incomparable rigor and passion. Incised with surface engravings that recall the bamboo ribbed washi paper of a Japanese light sculpture or traditional Chinese lantern, the ‘Rituals’ is executed in blown opaline glass with its unique striped effect achieved through a meticulous step by step process.
