Pierre Chapo was one of France’s most celebrated modern woodworkers and furniture designers. His sculptural and organic forms combine French modernist refinement with a traditional emphasis on craftsmanship. Today his made-to-order solid wood furniture continues to be handcrafted in France at the Chapo Création workshop run by Zoran Chapo, who embraces his grandfather's commitment to simplicity, sustainability, sincerity and creation.
 
First designed in 1964, Pierre Chapo's 'S10 Sahara' armchair highlights the finesse and complexity of Chapo's work with the intricate yet solid wood joinery and the '48x72' assembly principle. Featuring natural leather armrests with seat and chairback available in choice of unbleached linen or leather in black, chocolate or natural color. Perfect for daily use, the 'S10 Sahara' armchairs are executed in either elm or oak wood and finished in a simple and natural oil of linseed and turpentine.
 
Price per item. Available to order in unlimited quantities in choice of elm or oak wood, and choice of leather (natural, chocolate or black) or unbleached linen, please specify when ordering.  Please note that the wood's grain, color and features vary from item to item due to the organic nature of the material.
 
Every item is made to order with an approximate lead time of 3 months to 6 months, depending on the piece. Typically lead time is roughly 3 months for seating, 4 months for tables and 6 months for large cabinets. Lead times are subject to change without notice. **SHIPPING NOT INCLUDED** In order to facilitate the most accurate shipping quote on Chapo pieces, the buyer will be invoiced directly by Chapo Création for the actual shipping cost once ordered items have been fabricated. Buyer is responsible for all customs duties, fees and import taxes as well as the removal and disposal of packing materials. Please note that items must ship from Chapo Création’s workshop in France, so local pickup is not available. Shipment insured through carrier only. Two Enlighten is not liable for any claims.
