Originally, designed in 1947, this authorized re-edition from GUBI features the same elegant shape and sturdy construction as the original. Gascoin originally created the 'C-Chair' to meet the challenge of décor that would fit into the new homes built in postwar France; Gascoin made up for the lack of space in these smaller homes by creating simple, functional furniture.
 
Executed in French cane and solid wood, the 'C-Chair' is one of French designer Marcel Gascoin's most well-known pieces.

French designer Marcel Gascoin (1907-1986) was one of the leading furniture designers of the post-war era. His streamlined wooden furniture focused on clean aesthetics and functionality, and became a staple of postwar 1950s French households. Today Gascoin’s simple yet striking designs have been progressively re-discovered by collectors in the know.
