Hans-Agne Jakobsson '1002 Hans Pendant' in Pine for Vaarnii
 
First created by legendary designer Hans-Agne Jakobsson, the '1002 Hans Pendant' is a uniquely architectural lamp with an enduring appeal one can expect from the iconic Jakobsson. When illuminated the thin wood casts a distinctly warm and organic light that reveals the wood's natural grain while casting a beautiful glow. Handcrafted in solid Finish pine and veneer with a hardwax oil finish to the exacting standards of Vaarnii.
 
The Hans series of lighting is made in Finland using solid pine for internal structure and the finest pine veneer for exterior surfaces. Vaarnii’s sculptural and organic designs combine Finnish modernist refinement with a traditional emphasis on craftsmanship. Their sustainably sourced pine wood furniture and lighting is made to order by local craftspeople and small-scale fabricators. As every light is handmade using a natural material, each object is subject to subtle variations in symmetry. Every Hans light is therefore unique.
 
The '1002 Hans Pendant' is available in 2 sizes. Big, brazen, and a whole lot of pine, XL delivers a substantial dose of iconic design. The super-sized Hans uses the same concentric circles of veneer and sophisticated interior structure of solid Finnish pine as its smaller-sized sibling but tests the limits of lighting manufacture with its scale. More softly filtered light, more pine surface, more imposing, the 27.5-inch '1002 Hans Pendant XL' brings maximum impact to interior spaces with its substantial scale and yards of finest pine veneer.
 
Please note that due to the organic nature of pine wood some variation in color and grain may occur from piece to piece, resulting in each Hans Pendant being a unique piece.
