Giovanni Gorgoni 'Buonanotte' table lamp for Stilnovo
Founded in 1946 in Milan, Stilnovo was one of the most innovative lighting companies in Italy during the Midcentury era, producing iconic pieces by such luminaries as Joe Colombo, Angelo Mangiarotti, Ettore Sottsass, Gaetano Scolari, Piero Castiglioni, Bruno Gatta and others. Stilnovo was relaunched in 2019 with a commitment to faithfully re-edition its legendary designs with uncompromising attention to detail, materials and craftsmanship.
The 'Buonanotte' table lamp, originally designed in 1965 by Giovanni Gorgoni, is a playfully fun lamp adjustable to accommodate the user's evolving luminosity needs. The reflector's two metal shades each rotate around the spherical opal glass diffuser allowing for both direct and indirect light. As a pupil of Giò Ponti and Vittorio Gregotti this Gorgoni table lamp is a staple of any Italian lighting collection. Executed in painted metal with an opaline glass diffuser.
