A quintessentially 1950s Italian design executed in black painted metal, brass hardware and a blown opaline glass sphere. A sculptural and refined design characteristic of midcentury Italian design at its highest level.
Gilardi and Barzaghi was one of the most innovative lighting design teams in Italy during the midcentury era. Their designs have been long sought after by discerning collectors.
 
Professionally modified for mounting over standard American j-box. New socket accommodates a single 100W equivalent standard medium base e26 LED bulb (lower with incandescent). Not UL listed, but recommended UL listing possible from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request for an additional fee. Some age appropriate scuffs, dings, nicks, bends and wear noted only for accuracy.
